I won't lie...it's always nice to receive good reviews from critics!
But for me, being recognized and appreciated by my colleagues and audience members is equally, if not more, rewarding.
I was so surprised and grateful when the producers/writers of "Life On Mars", an ABC series I did, sent me this note:
"On behalf of all of us here at LIFE ON MARS, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for being a part of our first episode.
You made COLIN RAIMES the disturbed psychopath we envisioned when we wrote him. We couldn't be happier with your performance, especially your chilling delivery during the interrogation scene."
Sincerely,
Josh Applebaum / Andre Nemec / Scott Rosenberg

And this was an email sent to me from a couple who took the time to hunt me down so they could express their feelings about my performance.
What a nice gesture!
We saw you as Don Quixote in "Man of La Mancha" today and were blown away. Your incredible performance gave us goose bumps, not easy to do with two jaded New Yorkers who attend Broadway shows regularly, at least once a month. Your performance was so compelling that it stands out from all the shows we have seen, even "Evan Hansen." We believe you have a rare gift to bring life and reality to your characters and enjoyment to your audience.
Thank you.
Looking forward to seeing you perform again,
Susan and Bruce
