Michael Bertolini

My name is Michael Bertolini. I am a trained and experienced actor/singer who also writes and directs. Besides Show Business, I am also passionate about nature, traveling, animals and animal rights, physical fitness, and spirituality.

I've played a wide variety of roles in my career, but in order to hone in on my "brand," so to speak,  a coach I work with told me to ask a cross section of people what types of characters they could see me playing. Here are some of the responses:

• Seasoned detective, cop, military man, professor, blue collar guy, etc. Some said with a tough exterior masking a heart of gold...and others replied a tough exterior without a heart of gold! 
• Commissioner Gordon (Batman): "steadfast, dedicated, moral, and practical." 
• One primetime TV casting director said I was a mysterious type-the "seemingly nice next door neighbor who is really a serial killer" kind of thing.

And my favorite response...

• Walter White in a musical version of BREAKING BAD!

A lot of people who know me said that a role they thought really suited me was Cervantes/Don Quixote in 

MAN OF LA MANCHA: "…a charismatic and charming man. Though he appears "life-worn", his manner is youthful, 

full of energy, optimism and gusto."

What can I say? I guess when all is said and done I'm just a character actor...and proud to be one!

• I'm so excited to be cast as Jacob Marley in a new TV series: EBENEZER THE TRAVELER. Stay tuned for more details!

• I just finished doing an audio recording of the Greek classic, IPHIGENIA IN AULIS, which I performed Off-Broadway. It's for the launching of a graphic novel version of the play. Once again, I will be playing King Agamemnon. 

• A producer/writer colleague is writing a one-man show about Mark Twain that he asked me to do. We're currently editing the script with the hopes of premiering in New York City sometime this year. 

• Last year, I had the opportunity to do some voice-overs for a filmed production of Shakespeare's HENRY V, which was performed by...puppets!  It's scheduled to premiere sometime this Spring.
